As an attorney with over 20 years of experience, Anthony A. LoPresti has managed several law firms including the New York firm LOPRESTI PLLC [lopresti.one]. Anthony practices in all areas of civil and commercial litigation, with a focus in corporate / business law, as well as media, branding, trademark and intellectual property. Anthony has represented numerous businesses and ventures in industries such as media, publishing and entertainment, energy, construction, technology, international trade, textiles, fashion, investment, food & hospitality, health & well being. In media & entertainment, he has also represented producers, photographers, artists, fashion designers, actors and writers. Anthony continues to represent numerous ventures in the hospitality industry, including top restaurants throughout New York City.
Anthony has also managed matters concerning foreign and international law involving unique forums that include Russia (energy), China, Taiwan (import/export), and South Korea (import/export and high tech investment). In 2018, Anthony founded Bourne International [Bourne.One] to provide international business consultation.
Anthony is an Associate Producer of the 2014 Academy Award® winning film “The Lady in Number 6“, which won an Oscar in the Best Documentary Short category, and which told the story of Alice Herz-Sommer, concert pianist and the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor. Mr. LoPresti also represented author and concert pianist Caroline Stoessinger who wrote the book that inspired the film, “A Century of Wisdom“. Mr. LoPresti is Executive Producer of the feature film “Imminent Threat” (2015), a documentary that explores the War on Terror and its affect on civil liberties and political discourse.
Anthony is also the founder of Lima Charlie Media and Lima Charlie News, news and media organizations featuring content by military veterans and intelligence professionals worldwide. In 2017 Lima Charlie News was voted “least biased” and “highly factual in reporting” by media watchdog group Media Bias / Fact Check.
In administrative, regulatory and constitutional law, Anthony has represented both private and not-for-profit entities, as well as elected local officials and members of the U.S. Congress, to oppose numerous entities that have exceeded their authority, such as: the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (building & fire code compliance as to the site of the new World Trade Center and other Port Authority properties)(Skyscraper Safety Campaign, Inc., et al. v. Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, et al., No. 111870-03 [N.Y. Cty. 2003]); the FCC and Environmental Protection Agency (cellular phone radiation guidelines); the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (oil & gas development); the City Counsel of New York, the New York State Department of Transportation and the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (denials of licensing and regulatory issues); the New York State Thruway Authority (obstruction of railroad right of way and Rail Trail nature conservancy); and the County of Ulster and City of Kingston, New York (oppressive taxation).
Anthony also has considerable experience in the business world as both an entrepreneur and consultant. He has formed and managed several media, transmedia, e-commerce and film/TV production companies in New York. As a business consultant he has been hired to draft numerous business plans, proposals and offering statements for small and medium, domestic and international companies, and to perform due diligence assessments and reviews, for a multitude of diverse industries. Anthony also serves as the COO of Loyal Brands, LLC, makers of the brand "Gay Beer".
On a pro bono basis, Anthony has represented and worked with numerous charitable entities, such as the Legacy of Hope Foundation (helping to build the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital), along with a variety of not-for-profits supporting, among other things, veterans, education, the disabled, human rights, civil rights, LGBTQ+ community rights, environmental rights, health & well being, and animal rights.
Anthony pursued undergraduate studies at Fordham University and Brooklyn College, earning his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School, where he was a member of the New York Law School Journal of Human Rights. While at New York Law, Anthony also attended the University of London and the University of Exeter, England, where he studied European Community Law and International Business Transactions. Honors and awards include the Professor Lung-Chu Chen Award for Excellence in the Field of Human Rights (NYLS, 1996) and the Common Cause “Holding Power Accountable Award” (2003) which lauded Anthony as “a distinguished attorney who was one of the lead litigants challenging the closed door policies of the MTA. Through this lawsuit, Mr. LoPresti has helped promote a more open, honest and accountable democracy in New York State.”
